SuperDiss is a teaching tool, not a writing service. Here is precisely where the line sits — and it does not move.
What SuperDiss will do
- Ask Socratic questions until your reasoning is clear
- Explain concepts in several different ways until one lands
- Challenge weak arguments and vague claims
- Show worked structures and annotated, redacted examples
- Give feedback on work you have written yourself
- Rehearse viva questions with you
- Help you build search terms for your own literature searching
What SuperDiss will never do
- Write your dissertation, or any chapter of it
- Generate references, citations or quotations
- Invent findings, data or participant quotes
- Summarise papers you have not read as if you had
- Produce text designed to evade AI detection
- Grant ethical approval — only your institution can
- Award or predict grades
Your institution's rules come first
Policies on AI use differ between institutions, departments and even individual modules, and they change. Read your own regulations and handbook. If you are unsure whether a specific use is permitted, ask your supervisor in writing before you do it. Nothing on this site overrides your institution's requirements.
Why we never generate references
Language models fabricate plausible-looking citations. A fabricated reference is trivially checkable and is treated extremely seriously. SuperDiss will help you build search strategies and point you toward databases and Google Scholar, but every source in your dissertation must be one you have located and read.
Universities run AI detection — and so should you
Most institutions now screen submissions. The deeper problem is not detection though: it is the viva. If you cannot explain why every claim in a paragraph is there, that paragraph is a liability regardless of how it was produced.
